City ordinance requires owners adjacent to a sidewalk to remove snow and ice following a snowstorm. Many who spoke did not feel that the ordinance was effective, frequently ignored and often not enforced. Others noted problems such as owners only clearing the walk to the width of a snow shovel and not enough for a typical wheelchair. Some at the meeting did not believe owners were aware of their responsibility to clear curb ramps adjacent to their property.
