Personal Assistance Services

The word independence highlighted over a woman's face.

PAS

People with significant disabilities are able to live in the community only when essential services and supports are available. Activities of daily living, so often taken for granted, include getting in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting and housekeeping.

Every disability is different. Our Personal Assistance Services (PAS) staff learn a wide variety of assistive techniques and understand that each consumer is the best source of information about his or her needs.

On a daily basis, the PAS staff face challenges of scheduling and flexibility. They are also careful to maintain that delicate balance between assisting and directing. CPWD’s goal is always to help the consumer achieve the highest level of independence possible. Our PAS staff makes this goal a reality for many people who can be vital in our community with the right kind of personal assistance.

The Center provides long term home health services including attendant and nursing care through its Personal Assistance Services Program. Services are offered between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. 365 days a year. Without the services provided by the Personal Assistance Services Program, our clients would be forced to face expensive institutionalization in publicly funded nursing homes.

The PAS Program provides in home-based attendant services for people with disabilities that need assistance with activities of daily living. Skilled care is available including: Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Certified Nursing Assistants, Personal Care Providers and Homemakers.

We are always very interested in hearing from Certified Nursing Assistants, Personal Care Attendants and Homemakers who might be interested in working with our program to support persons with disabilities by providing services for them in their homes.
