(David C. Robinson on right)
CWPD wishes to express our thanks and best wishes to David Robinson. David served as CPWD’s Executive Director for the last 3 years. During his time, CPWD engaged in many meaningful programs and endeavors, including increasing capacity in assisting people with disabilities to find jobs and transition from nursing homes to their own home, as well as building our core service and specialized programs.
David had more than 20 years’ experience working in Centers for Independent Living across the country in Charlottesville, NC, Las Cruces NM, and Kansas City, MO before coming to CPWD. David is a champion of the Independent Living Movement, and strongly supports the rights of people with disabilities to set and reach for their own independent living goals with the assistance of inclusive organizations such as CPWD.
He helped bring the Road to Freedom Bus to CPWD in 2015 as it crossed the U.S. on its way to the Capitol to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ADA. David has long been interested in finding ways to bring assistance with psychiatric disabilities into the CIL model, and is a proponent of societal integration for all people, with and without disabilities.
Thank you David for your leadership and vision during your time with CPWD. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors and hope that you will continue to bring your good vision and work to the world.
